Robert Half Cost/GL Accountant in Kenosha, Wisconsin
Description Robert Half is looking for a cost accountant to join our client! This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. How you will make an impact
Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories
Determine any changes in cost by analyzing any changes in services or goods provided
Generate costs and cost saving ideas based on analysis
Manage the implementation of a standard costing methodology for domestic plants
Generate financial statements that comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Examine manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
Perform internal cost audits
Analyze projects and data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste
Develop and support the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization
Assist in general ledger preparation and audits
Examine the data collected and log a detailed record of the results
Perform variance analysis, including Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances
Make calculations of new and proposed product costs
Generate reports for management that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services Requirements - Understanding of cost management methodologies, activities, and cost pools based on direct and indirect cost rates
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports
Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
2 years of Cost Accounting work experience
Strong understanding of organizational accounting concepts
