Robert Half Senior Accountant in Kernersville, North Carolina
Description We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our team in the construction industry in Kernersville, North Carolina. The role involves managing and analyzing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and providing financial advice to the team.
Responsibilities:
• Execute the preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
• Maintain the general ledger and carry out monthly accruals.
• Conduct accounting related to job profitability and perform gross margin analysis.
• Review expenditure against budget with divisions.
• Manage vendor and customer accounts, reconcile accounts, and contribute to the monthly books closing process.
• Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and manage inquiries from banks.
• Supervise accounts receivable management.
• Manage accounts payable staff ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Assist external auditors by providing necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit successfully.
• File required tax forms and business licenses with federal, state, and local government agencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• Leverage skills in General Ledger, Financial Statement Preparation, Month End Close, and Construction Accounting. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar.
• Demonstrable knowledge and proficiency in General Ledger management.
• Proven experience in Financial Statement Preparation.
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures.
• Experience in Construction Accounting is a must.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
