Description

Our client, a growing manufacturing company with two locations in Montgomery County PA seeks a controller for a newly created role.

Primary responsibilities of the controller will include:

Responsible for overseeing all accounting related functions including the general ledger, month end close processes, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cost accounting, inventory accounting, revenue recognition and purchasing.

Responsible for internal control development, maintenance, and updates.

Assist with integration and due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.

Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements for the board, owners, senior managers and other shareholders.

Responsible for annual audit and all tax filings (federal, state, sales tax, property, etc.)

Develop annual budget and monthly forecasts.

Requirements

The Qualifications for the successful controller will include:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

10+ years’ accounting experience in a manufacturing experience with a minimum of two years in a controller or senior management role

Public/private accounting mix highly desired.

Technical accounting a plus

Mergers and Acquisition experience a must and purchasing accounting a plus.

CPA or MBA required.

  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred

  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued

  • Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

  • Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

  • Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

  • Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong familiarity with month end closings

  • Financial Statement experience

  • General familiarity with Manufacturing Cost Accounting

  • Foundational knowledge in Analyze Financial Statements

  • Expertise in CPA Designation

  • CPA experience

  • Practical knowledge of cost accounting

  • Adeptness in financial statement preparation

  • Public Accounting experience highly preferred

  • Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting

  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
