Robert Half Bookkeeper in Knoxville, Tennessee

Description

We are on the lookout for a diligent Bookkeeper to become a part of our team. Predominantly based in Knoxville, Tennessee, this role is pivotal to our operations within the industry. You will be tasked with handling a variety of accounting responsibilities, such as managing payable and receivable accounts, dealing with journal entries and month-end closures, and maintaining robust financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Execute journal entries in an accurate and timely manner.

• Handle the month-end closure procedures, ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurate.

• Perform reconciliations on a regular basis to guarantee the validity and accuracy of financial data.

• Manage the certificate of insurance and verify that the level of insurance meets the company requirements.

• Field departmental phone calls, providing excellent customer service and handling inquiries.

• Match invoices to payments, ensuring all financial transactions are accounted for.

• Manage office supplies and place orders when necessary.

• Utilize software such as Microsoft Excel and Sage 100 to streamline and optimize accounting processes.

• Maintain a filing system for all financial documents, ensuring easy retrieval and organization.

Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar bookkeeping role

• Proficient in account reconciliation

• Knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with bank reconciliations

• Demonstrated skills in bookkeeping

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in monthly end close procedures

• Familiarity with Sage 100 software

• Ability to prepare and post journal entries

• Experience in ordering office supplies

• Familiarity with filing systems and procedures
