Robert Half International Patient Access Specialist in KOKOMO, Indiana


The Robert Half Healthcare Practice has an immediate full-time opening for a Patient Access Specialist with a premier healthcare provider in Kokomo, IN! We are thrilled to partner with this established firm to secure their newest staff member!

The schedule: PRN/this position will work every weekend, so guaranteed at minimum 2 days per pay. This position will also require working when a full-time employee is out on vacation and/or to cover days off. There would be weeks that this associate could work full time hours, but not guaranteed. PRN/relieving for vacations and days off in outpatient departments. Primarily days, possible some weekends and holidays.

While in the Patient Access Specialists position, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to: greeting customers in polite, prompt, helpful manner utilizing excellent customer service skills, anticipating and providing assistance to accommodate patients having difficulty ambulating and completing forms, providing customer service by responding to routine requests for information/service and or direct patients'/visitors to appropriate locations, obtaining all necessary information needed to complete the registration process; i.e. patient signature, insurance card, photo ID and order (if needed), accurately completing the registration process and placing appropriate patient information in time sequence for the technologist to retrieve, demonstrating a good understanding of the requirements for valid orders, insurance cards and release of information, revising necessary information in computer systems and e-load correct insurance information, helping answer office phones utilizing good customer service skills and direct calls in a friendly and appropriate manner, maintaining work area in neat and orderly manner, scheduling patient appointments as needed according to the current policy and procedure, scheduling and registering same day add on patients, sorting incoming mail for the office, completing or ques as assigned, complying with all HIPAA Privacy and Security Policies and Procedures, and performing other related duties as may become necessary or instructed.

The requirements of the Patient Registration Specialist include, but are not limited to: strong customer service and administrative skills, the ability to multi-task, the ability to work efficiently and effectively with little to no supervision, demonstration of consistent detail oriented conduct and meticulous attention to detail, ability to work as a team player, punctuality, and a positive and compassionate attitude towards patient care.
