Robert Half Senior HR Generalist in La Jolla, California

Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior HR Generalist to support their human resources department. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of HR practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple HR functions effectively. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of HR activities and contributing to the continuous improvement of HR practices within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.

  • Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, resume screening, conducting interviews, and onboarding new employees.

  • Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and alignment with organizational goals.

  • Maintain and update employee records, including benefits administration, performance evaluations, and employee relations issues.

  • Provide guidance and support to management on HR-related matters, including employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution.

  • Coordinate and facilitate employee training and development programs to enhance staff skills and career growth.

  • Administer compensation and benefits plans, ensuring competitive and equitable compensation practices.

  • Conduct and manage the performance review process, providing support and feedback to managers.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

  • Manage HRIS data entry and reporting, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

  • Lead special HR projects and initiatives as assigned by the HR Director.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a human resources role, with at least 3 years in a generalist capacity.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and HRIS systems.

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information.

  • Thorough understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.

  • Experience in the non-profit sector is preferred.

  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is preferred.
