Robert Half Sr. Accountant in La Jolla, California

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the beautiful location of La Jolla, California, 92037, United States. This role is integral to our operations, encompassing various aspects of financial management, from general ledger maintenance to financial reporting.

Key responsibilities:

• Accurately process, verify, and record accounts payable invoices and accounts receivable invoices related to intercompany costs.

• Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations along with general ledger reconciliations.

• Prepare and process monthly journal entries for investments, payroll, fixed assets, accruals, prepaid expenses, and accounts receivables.

• Manage financial statements preparation on a quarterly and annual basis, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow and footnotes.

• Oversee the maintenance of secure accounting records and investment documents, including a checklist for receipt of monthly, quarterly and annual statements and tax documents.

• Assist with the enhancement of accounting processes and controls, and research on accounting issues for compliance with GAAP.

• Review and reconcile grants, prepare the related journal entries.

• Handle the preparation and verification of periodic wire transfer forms and letters of authorization for investments.

• Process annual 1099’s, use tax/property tax reports, and not-for-profit tax return.

• Assist in cash flow budgeting preparation, financial audits, and annual tax return preparation.

• Contribute to special projects, working both collaboratively and independently as required. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in an accounting role.

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations.

• Experience with General Ledger management and Journal Entries.

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting.

• Proven experience with Month End Close procedures.

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP accounting software.

• CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and meet tight deadlines.

• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
