We are offering an exciting opportunity in the Healthcare, Hospitals, and Social Assistance industry, located in Laconia, New Hampshire, United States. We are seeking a Staff Accountant who will play a significant role in our financial department. You will be entrusted with tasks such as processing customer applications, maintaining accurate customer records, and resolving customer inquiries. You will also monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action.
Responsibilities:
• Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of customer credit applications
• Maintain precise customer credit records
• Handle and resolve customer inquiries effectively
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary action based on the account status
• Work on daily deposits and understand the reconciling of payments
• Translate cash entries and accruals to the General Ledger (GL)
• Perform invoicing for the state and service contracts, including timesheet reconciliation for grants
• Create monthly or quarterly invoices in compliance with budgets for each state program and service contracts
• Provide monthly journal entries to staff accountants to record revenue
• Monitor payments on monthly invoices and alert the Controller of non-payment
• Assist the Controller and Chief Financial Officer with various projects as needed
• Ensure company fiscal policies are being adhered to
• Assist with audit preparation.
Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant, preferably in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry.
• Proficient in handling Accounts Payable (AP), and able to manage high-volume invoicing with accuracy.
• Demonstrated expertise in conducting bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
• Familiarity with General Ledger operations and maintenance.
• Proven experience in preparing and posting journal entries.
• Ability to manage and complete month-end close processes in a timely manner.
• Skilled in invoice coding, ensuring all invoices are correctly categorized and recorded.
• Experience in preparing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Knowledge and experience in conducting financial statement audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.
