Clint Ahlgrimm is searching for a Controller for the East Bay.

Do you want to work as a Controller? Robert Half Finance has a current opening for a reputable services company you don't want to miss. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. We are seeking an individual for this role who is able to motivate others by maintaining a positive attitude; exhibiting integrity, reliability and leadership; and is capable of providing exceptional client services by managing self and others by responding with a sense of urgency, practicality and accountability. You will also be responsible for key decision making and the ability to challenge, negotiate and influence the team. As part of the leadership team, you will be expected to lead the production of innovative ideas that are sound and progressive, to challenge the status quo, and to encourage creativity throughout your area of responsibility. The full-time Controller position is situated in the Lafayette, California area.

How you will make an impact

  • Lead the operations of the finance department which includes accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

  • Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed

  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management

  • Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

  • Drive the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to ensure the timely cash collection

  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

    Requirements

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

-10+ years of relevant accounting experience, 3+ years' experience in a management role

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Experience with an ERP system

-Intermediate Excel skills

-Strong problem solving skills
