Robert Half is currently offering a fully remote role for a California-based Legal Secretary or Paralegal. This part-time position will 20 hours per week and is ideal for someone seeking supplemental income for a current legal role (preferably plaintiff-side), or a legal professional who is a parent or caregiver with limited available. Hours and days worked are flexible for the right Legal Secretary or Paralegal. To receive consideration, the Paralegal or Legal Secretary must have a minimum of four (4) years recent experience in California civil litigation and be available during traditional business hours. Candidates with employment law experience are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:

• E-filing in state and federal courts

• Answering phones

• Discovery

• Legal research

A paralegal certificate is not required. However, employment law experience preferred.

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 year experience in a Legal Secretary or Paralegal role

• Proficiency in using LexisNexis for legal research and case management

• Experience with Management System for task organization and delegation

• Skilled in Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites for document creation and editing

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook for email communication and scheduling

• Experience with Billing Functions in a legal setting is a plus

• Ability to prepare Briefings and Documentation for legal proceedings

• Experience with e-Filing systems for court documents

• Experience with Federal Court procedures and regulations

• Understanding of Discovery process in legal proceedings
