CORE DIAGNOSTICS IT - IT STRATEGY CONSULTANT

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is responsible for the development and coordination of the Core Diagnostics IT Division strategy and roadmaps. This role works with and reports to the Director of IT Strategy, Portfolio & Governance to drive cross-division IT strategy activities and ensures effective aggregation of key messages and recommendations for executive-level presentations. The IT Strategy Consultant works directly with BRMs and key IT and business partners to understand business strategies, priorities, and long-range planning opportunities for translation into IT strategy and to uncover investment opportunities. This position also leverages second- and third-party research to increase division awareness of technology trends, stimulate creativity and innovation in others and identify opportunities for business investment.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leverages second- and third-party research to understand current and emergent industry and market drivers, and technology trends, and publishes summary and key findings to IT division.

  • Continuously maintains library of IT division- and business-facing reference materials for internal knowledge sharing.

  • Evaluates drivers and trends for division applicability and identifies opportunities for further research and/or business investment.

  • Partners with BRMs and business leaders to document cross-division and business unit goals, objectives, and strategies.

  • Contributes to all facets of the IT strategy framework, including content and presentation design.

  • Coordinates cross-division IT strategy deliverables and provides status updates on a periodic basis with division IT leadership.

  • Develops cross-division artifacts, technology roadmaps and communications that convey the connection between business strategy and capabilities, existing IT projects, and proposed technology enablement opportunities.

  • Ascertains cross-division synergies for business investment, across business capability gaps, technology application health risks, and process and application simplification opportunities.

  • Partners with BRMs and IT partners to identify opportunities and co-develops proposals for increased positive customer experience, cost reductions, and cost avoidance.

  • Participates in conversations regarding future state business and IT solutions with BRMs, Corporate IT and external vendors.

    Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or another discipline relevant to the Healthcare industry.

  • 7-10 years of IT experience in large or midsized multinational Pharmaceutical, or Health Care organization.

  • Strong understanding of business strategy and IT strategy related artifacts and deliverables.

  • Strong understanding of business and technology capability maps and ways to leverage concepts for business investment prioritization.

  • Ability to convey application of a new or emerging concept or trends to promote further understanding and influence action.

  • Ability to build frameworks and templates for others to consume and contribute.

  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Proven leadership skills, self-directed with strong work ethic.

  • Ability to move forward and manage through ambiguity.

  • Strong organizational skills and proven ability to multi-task across multiple programs successfully.

  • Experience developing executive-level presentations.

  • Experience conveying progress and achievement of business goals and objectives.

  • Experience in discussing IT strategy and gaining business alignment.

  • Experience and understanding of the complete software life cycle including privacy and security aspects.

  • Experience with vendor management.

  • Ability to collaborate with others and identify innovative solutions to drive business improvement both for internal business users and external customers.

  • Work effectively with all levels of management up to and including Division Directors and VPs.

  • Technology knowledge of the following disciplines is a plus (Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Cloud Strategies, Augmented/Virtual Reality, Predictive Analytics)
