Description We are in search of a Tax Staff - Public to be an integral part of our team in the Professional Services industry, based in Lake Forest, Illinois. This role is primarily focused on the execution of tax and accounting functions, interacting with clients, supervising staff, and participating in business development activities.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately compile, review, and audit engagements with minimal supervision. • Prepare tax filings in compliance with IRS guidelines, ensuring client satisfaction. • Establish and maintain effective and respectful communication with clients, fostering strong relationships. • Oversee the work of entry level accounting and audit employees, providing mentorship and support as necessary. • Identify leads and opportunities for expanded services with current clients, contributing to the firm's business development efforts. • Utilize accounting software systems to maintain accurate records and optimize work processes. • Adhere to compliance standards in all accounting functions. • Conduct financial statement audits to ensure accuracy and transparency. • Assist in the formation of entities, providing expert advice and guidance. • Handle customer inquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is mandatory
• Demonstrable experience with CaseWare is required
• Familiarity with CCH IntelliConnect, CCH Prosystem, and CCH ProSystem Fx is beneficial
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions is crucial
• Experience in Auditing is a requisite
• Knowledge of Compliance procedures is necessary
• Proficiency in Entity Formation is highly desirable
• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements is important
• Candidates should possess good communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent problem-solving ability and attention to detail are necessary
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required
• Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is desirable
• Candidates should have strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of tax laws and regulations is beneficial.
