Robert Half Payroll Supervisor/Manager/Director in Lakeland, Florida

Description

Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a Payroll Manager. The Payroll Manager will help meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. If you are a dynamic Payroll Manager with excellent communication, proven leadership, and are deadline driven, this may be the role for you.

Your responsibilities in this role

  • Respond to all questions related to payroll and resolve issues

  • Manage and train payroll clerks and assistants

  • Help create systems that process payroll account transactions, like salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments

  • Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits

  • Create reports and ensure accuracy of records

  • Supervise system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)

  • Abide by relevant laws and internal policies

  • Collaborate with Human Resources (HR) and accounting teams

  • Organize payroll systems and timekeeping

This position is requiring a candidate that also has some experience with accounting when it comes to the month end financial reporting.

This is a permanent position that will pay up to $100,000 depending upon experience. Please apply to Jane Gearhart if interested!

Requirements - Knowledge in compliance

  • 5+ years of payroll experience

  • CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus

  • Leadership and organizational skills

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Superb understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes

  • Current knowledge of payroll procedures and related laws

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field

  • Proficiency in a range of payroll applications

  • Background in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
