Description

We are in the process of adding a Staff Accountant to our team located in Lakewood, Washington, United States. In this role, you will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities ranging from processing financial data to generating complex fiscal reports. This opportunity offers a contract to permanent employment situation, allowing for long-term growth within our organization.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately and systematically maintain ledger accounts.

• Reconcile bank and investment accounts routinely.

• Develop and implement working procedures to enhance fiscal operations.

• Analyze fiscal data and make recommendations for the acceleration of revenue transfers.

• Provide management guidance to staff on long-term fiscal cyclic requirements.

• Prepare and complete year-end closing procedures.

• Assist auditors and provide necessary financial summary information.

• Prepare adjusting entries and review trial balances.

• Develop internal controls to safeguard the organization's resources and assets.

• Provide fiscal support for fundraising events, including registration and check out assistance.

• Reconcile fundraising events at the conclusion and verify totals with the team.

Requirements

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Proven experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and General Ledger maintenance

• Knowledge of Journal Entries and Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail

• Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills

• Ability to handle confidential information

• Solid understanding of financial and accounting procedures

• Excellent time management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines
