Robert Half Direct is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for a financial services firm who will manage the delivery of a full range of tax services for clients. The Senior Tax Manager will provide innovative tax planning, consulting and compliance expertise and exceptional client service as a trusted business advisor.
This position will be heavily involved in new and existing client business development and community activities and will be responsible for Associates’ ongoing professional development and coaching.
Identify and address client needs: build, maintain, and utilize networks of client relationships and community involvement; communicate value propositions; manage resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections; and prepare and/or coordinate complex written and verbal materials
Demonstrate success and lead as tax technical business advisor, including developing new relationships, making introductions to sell new services and doing so with a "One Firm" service mindset
Grow networks and relationships internally and externally for the team to leverage from
Responsibility for management of engagement economics and managing appropriate resources efficiently and with proper leverage
Develop the service line by working with leadership team to advance thought leadership, client and people development (direct management as well as coaching)
Demonstrate company values and alignment with the firm’s mission and long-term vision
Delegate work effectively based on risk, team capabilities, engagement status and staff development opportunities
Ensure client deliverables are met within expectations, responsible for handling any escalated issues that may arise
Lead in business development and community activities to help identify and research opportunities on new and existing clients
Keep up to date with local and national business and economic issues
Participate in continuous learning activities and active research to improve and develop own and others’ technical expertise
Lead and participate in proposal process, prospective client meetings and budget development
High level management of successful delivery of a full range of technically complex services and advise companies on tax implications of their operations to develop a confident tax strategy
Lead team responsible for developing tax strategy, ensuring tax compliance and increasing post tax profits to achieve the best corporate and individual tax practices
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
CPA or JD certification required
10+ years’ or equivalent experience of progressive tax consulting experience across a wide range of industries
Exceptional knowledge in tax laws and principles
Prior experience in coaching and training entry-level accounting professionals required
Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute, based on firm focus and future of the tax service line
Proven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statute
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite products and technologically-savvy
Self-motivated and willing to enhance accounting and tax knowledge
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while providing necessary guidance to more entry-level team members
Demonstrated ability to lead a team of entry-level Associates and participate in their professional development
