Robert Half Staff Accountant in LANCASTER, Pennsylvania
Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant with an eye for accuracy to fill a long-term position at a growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, many aspects of internal reporting will be your responsibility. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. This company offers a challenging and multi-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded and the role is based in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania region.
How you will make an impact
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Partake in annual closing processes
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Current and relevant ERP system experience
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Vow to meet business deadlines
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Journal entries experience required
Excel Formulas experience desired
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Top notch analytical, quantitative and social skills
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
