Robert Half Accounts Receivable Specialist in Lancaster, Texas

Description

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for overseeing the daily billing, cash receipts, posting of cash, issuance of credits, and other accounts receivable functions. This role also involves performing a variety of miscellaneous duties to support the accounting department and ensure efficient financial operations. This role requires a diligent and proactive individual who can handle multiple tasks efficiently and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Daily Cash Management:

  • Prepare daily deposits and apply cash receipts.

  • Notify the sales team of any discrepancies.

  • Manage credit card pre-approvals and charges.

Invoicing and Billing:

  • Generate and send invoices to customers.

  • Contact customers to resolve billing issues and ensure timely payments.

  • Enter credits into the ERP system.

Account Setup and Credit Management:

  • Obtain credit information on new accounts and set up accounts post-approval.

  • Reply to credit inquiries from other companies.

Reconciliation and Reporting:

  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.

  • Gather information and process morning reports.

  • Prepare financial reports related to accounts receivable.

Customer Service and Collaboration:

  • Provide excellent customer service and problem resolution for both internal and external partners.

  • Collaborate with other departments to address customer queries.

Administrative Support:

  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Perform general administrative duties to support the Accounting Staff.

Process Improvement:

  • Seek out and communicate opportunities to continuously improve, standardize, and streamline the company's AR administrative and collections process.

Miscellaneous:

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

3+ years of proven experience in accounts receivable or a similar financial role.

Proficiency in using ERP systems and financial software.

Strong Excel skills (VLOOKUP's and Pivot tables).

Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Effective communication and customer service skills.

Ability to collaborate with various departments and work as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to process improvement.
