Robert Half Benefits Coordinator in LANSING, Michigan

Description A highly respected client has an open role for a Benefits Administrator. The benefits administrator will direct and plan the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs. Common operations in this benefits administrator role will involve researching alternative benefits programs, implementing enhancements to current programs, and overseeing all general tasks associated with benefits administration. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Coordinate leaves of absence and process claims or requests (medical operations, worker's compensation etc.)

  • Manage relationships with all our service providers

  • Support administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes

  • Support organization to comply with applicable government regulations

  • Lead enrollments and determine employee eligibility

  • Ensure employees are aware of their benefit options

  • Coordinate daily benefits processing

  • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration

  • Craft benefit appropriate programs such as insurance, wellness etc.

  • Work closely with and maintain professional communication with accounting department

  • Research employee benefits plans and vendors Requirements

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, human resources or similar relevant field preferred

  • Hands-on experience with data analysis

  • 3+ years of related benefits or employee benefits administration experience

  • Deep knowledge of benefits contract language

  • Capable in office applications and software, as well as Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS)
