Description

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Coordinator in LANSING, Michigan. In the non-profit sector, the Benefits Coordinator will play a key role in managing employee benefits programs and ensuring accurate data handling. This role will involve working with various teams and vendors, providing crucial assistance to employees, and maintaining a high level of detail in administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Administer various employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life flexible spending accounts, and 403(b)

• Provide comprehensive overviews of benefit programs to eligible employees and assist with their enrollment

• Collaborate with internal IT and benefit vendors to manage enrollments, resolve issues, and provide assistance to employees

• Ensure accurate entry and update of employee benefit data in the administration system

• Verify the accuracy of the monthly premium statements for client invoices

• Assist in the planning and implementation of annual open enrollment

• Communicate effectively with both active and retired participants, and employers on benefit education matters

• Issue letters to employees for benefit verification purposes

• Resolve employee concerns by thoroughly researching and investigating the issues

• Oversee and identify claim issues/trends by working with employees and benefit vendors to resolve issues

• Process self-administered short-term disability claims

• Present benefit information effectively in both one-on-one and professional group settings

• Stay updated on new benefit developments by effectively utilizing vendor resources and attending training and benefit educational events as assigned.

Requirements • Proficiency in Open Enrollment procedures

• Familiarity with Short Term Disability/Long Term Disability policies

• Knowledge of various Benefit Packages and their administration

• Demonstrable experience in Benefits Administration

• Ability to coordinate benefits effectively

• Understanding of Deductible and its implications on benefit packages

• Experience with Voluntary Deductions and their impact on employee benefits.
