Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity at our location in Lansing, Michigan. The role involves working as a Compensation & Benefits Specialist, a critical function within our team. This position will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing various aspects of employee compensation and benefits, ensuring compliance, and maintaining effective HRMS systems.

Responsibilities:

• Administering compensation and benefits programs, ensuring consistent application and adherence to policies. • Utilizing HRMS and About Time systems to manage employee data and generate reports. • Conducting benefits functions such as claim administration, open enrollment, and managing 403B plans. • Overseeing compensation administration, including job evaluations and salary surveys. • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations related to compensation and benefits. • Managing medical and insurance benefits programs. • Overseeing FMLA and Leave of Absence processes. • Administering retirement and retirement benefits programs. • Collaborating with the HR team to resolve employee inquiries and issues related to compensation and benefits. • Participating in benefits vendor selection and management processes. Requirements • Proficiency in HRMS and About Time software

• Extensive knowledge of Benefit Functions and Claim Administration

• Experience in Compensation Administration and Compliance

• Familiarity with Medical and Insurance Benefits

• Ability to manage Open Enrollment periods effectively

• Deep understanding of 403B Plans and FMLA regulations

• Experience in managing Leave of Absence

• Knowledge of Retirement and Retirement Benefits management

• Ability to work in an educational setting, preferably at a university level

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
