Description

Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk for an esteemed company in the insurance industry. The primary responsibilities of the Accounting Clerk will be assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R), matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and general forms of data entry. This is a long-term contract / temporary position based in the Lansing, Michigan area.

What you get to do every day

  • Assist Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance

  • Upload financial information to journals and ledgers

  • Patch up discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required

  • Put together statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources

  • Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects

  • Support Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing

  • Assemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes

    Requirements - Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system

  • Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred

  • Solid understanding of Arranging Travel

  • Experience with Purchasing Activities

  • Deep understanding of Database

  • Earlier work involving Microsoft Teams

  • Well-founded grasp of Accrued Expenses

  • Quality experience with Coordinating Schedules

  • Practical knowledge of ADP Online

  • General familiarity with expense reports

  • Purchase Orders experience

  • Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Word

  • Proven knowledge of Concur

  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel

  • Command of filing

  • Outstanding data entry skills
