The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, benefits, and leave, enforcing company policies and practices, as well as other tasks. The HR Manager will need to work well with others, be sensitive to cultural diversity of colleagues and clients serviced, open to detail oriented growth and knowledge through training and experience, and act as a role model within the agency. This could be a great step up for an HR Generalist who is eager to take on more responsibility!
Roles and Responsibilities Has direct oversight to health, dental, life, and disability insurance coverage including interacting with insurance companies and overseeing the processing and record keeping of claims. Manage enrollment and communication with employees regarding benefits. Coordinate communication materials for benefit. Serves as the supervisor for the HR/Payroll Administrative Assistant. Works closely with all employees in a consultancy role to understand and implement. Agency policies and procedures. Sets the standard for customer service within team. Coordinates all leaves of absences including workman's comp, short term and long term disability benefits. Responsible for recruitment efforts and initial applicant screening. Coordinates centralized hiring process including updating job descriptions, postings, etc. Serves as HR/Payroll team lead for Apricot system. Responsible for development/maintenance of forms used by personnel, with ultimate goal of going paperless and adding efficiencies to processes. Provides input on HR policies and procedures. Responsible for the oversight and delegation of special HR/Payroll projects including but not limited to salary surveys, open enrollment, trainings etc. Works with HR support person for the maintenance of a centralized personnel filing system and employee records; and oversees the maintenance of payroll records. Maintains positive and detail oriented relationships and represents the best interests of the agency at all times. Ensures that the agency is compliant with State and Federal Employment laws. Advises on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits. Planning and delivery of training, including orientation to new employees. Serve as lead for HR in the absence of the Director of Administrative Services. Requirements Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience Knowledge of federal and state employment laws. Fluency in Microsoft Office Experience working with benefits Sensitive to cultural diversity of colleagues and clients served Works well with others
