Our client a growing company locate in La Porte, TX is seeking a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the Full Cycle Payroll of 560 employees on a bi-weekly multi-state basis. The Payroll Specialist must have 3+ years experience processing payroll, reconciliations, multi-state, and must be tech savvy. This is a direct hire opportunity paying up to 95K plus benefits working 100% in office.
Major responsibilities
Operate regular payroll reporting as required and assist with financial audits related to pay records and associated general ledger
Check data entered by others in the payroll software to include, but not limited to salary/wage increases, benefit deductions, employee termination dates, and employee leaves of absence under FMLA or other unpaid leave
Study fringe benefit reporting, pay practices related to FLSA, and other payroll areas to determine how those practices apply to advise management
Agree to current payroll tax requirements and relevant laws associated with the processing of employee wage data, including payroll taxes, employee federal and state income and social security taxes and other required reporting
Prepare systems and protocols to direct the collection, calculation and entering of pay data
Be of help to staff with PTO accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, general questions related to payroll, and other pay related issues
Confirm timely processing of payroll in accordance with labor regulations and standard accounting principles
Join forces Information Technology, Human Resources, and other internal business partners to ensure security protocols for pay systems
Direct quarterly and year-end payroll reports
Handle voluntary deductions, as well as wage garnishments, pay levies, and other involuntary court-ordered payments in a timely manner, including reporting to the necessary authorities
Requirements - Adeptness in Process Bi-weekly Payroll
Full Cycle Payroll experience
Payroll for over 500 employees experience preferred
Deep understanding of in-house payroll
Experience with Payroll Taxes
Demonstrated knowledge of Reconcile Payroll
Command of Multi-state Payroll
Imperative to have skills in an HRIS system and high proficiency with spreadsheets
Prior practice in various withholdings, garnishments, and processing liens
3+ years of payroll experience
- CPP or FPC preferred
