Description
We are in search of Rental Assistance Application Processors who will primarily be focused on processing and reviewing applications. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Perform a comprehensive review of Rental Assistance applications to determine eligibility, make appropriate assistance recommendations, and finalize applications for Quality Control review
• Closely examine and evaluate all documents to ensure authenticity
• Calculate income, deductions, exemptions, and rental assistance amounts
• Communicate via phone and email with applicants to obtain outstanding documentation needed to continue processing pending applications
• Ensure applicants’ files are complete, concise, and comply with confidentiality etiquette
• Educate Tenants and Landlords on program regulations, administrative policies, and procedures when required
• Complete reports detailing application assignment status and provide reasoning for any application processing delays
• Participate in team meetings to discuss best practices and recommendations for improving workflow
• Collaborate with supervisors and co-workers to ensure and achieve the Department’s goals
• Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
• Must have prior experience reviewing applications for housing assistance or ERAP
• Proficient in data processing and maintaining associated documentation.
• Proven ability to deliver superior customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• High school diploma or equivalent required, higher education preferred.
• Must have a reliable internet connection for remote work, if applicable.
