Description
Staff Accountant - Contract - 1-2 months
The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of finance and administrative tasks, including:
Processing incoming payments and approving outgoing payments
Approving pre-settlement and final settlement statements
Managing utility account connections and disconnections
Generating and preparing accounting reports, financial records, and audit documentation
Making and verifying deposits
Investigating and resolving matters related to accounts payable and deposits
Providing administrative support for Senior Management members
Screening and evaluating correspondence, and preparing appropriate responses
Maintaining and interfacing with company accounts
Preparing, reviewing, and submitting journal entries
Reviewing and approving lot acquisitions
Preparing monthly budget and account reconciliations
Reviewing and approving new vendors, updating existing ones, and verifying vendor compliance
Reviewing, reconciling, and processing bank and credit card statements
Maintaining professional demeanor in appearance and communication
Performing other duties as assigned
Education:
A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent Accounting work experience is required.
Experience:
A minimum of two years' relevant experience is required for this position
Skills/Abilities:
The ideal candidate must be reliable, trustworthy, and proficient in using MarkSystems, Google Suite, or related programs. They should have extensive knowledge of accounting theory and practice, excellent organizational skills, and attention to detail. The ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records, good analytical and problem-solving skills, and the capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under time pressure are crucial for this role.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
• Demonstrable experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Proficient in maintaining and updating General Ledger
• Skilled in preparing and managing Journal Entries
• Prior experience in handling Month End Close procedures
• Familiarity with NetSuite financial software
• Proficiency in Oracle financial software
• Experience in using QuickBooks for accounting tasks
• Knowledge of SAP financial software
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Ethical conduct in line with accounting best practices
