Robert Half Assistant Controller - Office Manager in Las Vegas, Nevada
We are on the look out for a talented Assistant Controller for our client in the Construction/Contractor industry. The Assistant Controller position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, analysis, full cycle A/P, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close. The Assistant Controller will also serve as the Office Manager overseeing corporate governance, insurance, liaison with corporate legal counsel, purchasing, hiring and office leadership. Qualified candidates should be self-driven and organized accounting professionals capable of thrives under tight deadlines with minimal supervision in this Assistant Controller role. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Las Vegas, Nevada area.
What you get to do every single day
Organize cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.
List budget transfers
Prepare subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement
Other special projects as requested
Manage monthly accounting close
Sort sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments
File cash flow projections, as needed
Summarize business license and gross receipts
Draw up monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents
Accomplished in credit card management and reconciliation
Lead Accounts Receivable

BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
Accounting Functions experience
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
Earlier work involving project management
Formal Project Management experience highly preferred
Accounts Payable (AP) experience preferred
Adeptness in bank reconciliations
Background working with Manage Project Plan
General ledger experience
Experience with account reconciliation
Demonstrated knowledge of Analyze Financial Statements
Practical knowledge of Office Functions
General familiarity with financial auditing
- 5+ years of related experience- Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
- Progressive accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
