The purpose of this position is to support negotiations and onboarding requests from union and employers for the Hospitality and Alaska plans. This position would take the lead on responding to plan information requests, complete benefit plan comparisons, support the negotiations process as needed, and assist with onboarding and transitioning members into the Hospitality and Alaska Plans. This position is also responsible to work with the Manager of Hospitality, Alaska and Benefits and the Director Hospitality, Alaska and Benefits on the review of Health & Welfare language for the CBA/MOA, preparing needed documentation for minimum standards and contract tracking, and working with the contribution accounting vendor and payroll audit team as needed for CBA specific Plan Management.

Work with Manager and Director to support Union and/or employer leadership in review of CBA /MOA health and welfare language and address any questions regarding rates, terms, etc.

Review employer benefits information as requested by Union and employer leadership received from the Union and prepare benefits plan comparison, analyze and identify key differences and strengths of Fund benefits .

Review the Hospitality Plan Bargaining Tool Kit with Union staff, including participation criteria, eligibility criteria, plan benefits, employer contribution and accounting requirements, and overview of the employer onboarding process.

Maintain and distribute Radar report to Fund Staff, and TPA.

Coordinate with TPA and Fund Staff to communicate details on new employers, including plans to be offered, special provisions in the CBA, timing to onboard and specific transition requirements.

Coordinate with vendor partners to review network access for new employers and to identify any gaps in access.

Facilitate review of CBA/MOA language with outside legal counsel, TPA and Fund staff, as needed.

Provide input on opportunities to automate, streamline process in support of CBA bargaining process.

Respond timely to inquiries from bargaining parties and coordinate response as appropriate with other teams across the Fund.

Maintain Employer Matrix for Hospitality and Alaska Plans

Maintain data regarding CBA contracts, timelines, and trigger dates for information

Create and maintain CBA data and distribution to Fund staff and vendors

Manage communications regarding Plan and CBA with all stakeholders – employer, union, TPA, Fund leadership.

Partner with other Fund departments to train employers and union as appropriate for Plan implementation through meetings, webinars, and events.

Work with Third Party Administrator to resolve escalated employer billing, and reporting, eligibility and claims issues.

Support the remote enrollment process as needed regarding enrollment process, materials, training of LOAs, staffing of events, and troubleshooting,

Analyze process issues and bottlenecks and identify process improvements.

Develop strong relationships with the members, Union staff, and employers and support special requests with other teams across the Fund and Third Party Administrator.

Build relationships internally and collaborates effectively on cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Years of Experience and Knowledge:

5 7 years of related experience in a(n) union or Taft-Hartley environment minimum

Working knowledge and experience of health insurance.

Working knowledge in welfare benefits plans as it relates to plan design and administration

Prior experience working in a union environment, preferred

Knowledge of Taft-Hartley Plans, preferred

Bachelor's degree in healthcare or related field or industry related experience

Intermediate level Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)

Intermediate level Microsoft Excel skills

Preferred fluency (speak and write) in Spanish

Resourcefulness and ability to devise creative solutions to problems.

Detail oriented with good research and analytical skills

Requires the ability to work on his/her own or as a part of a team and show initiative

Good project management and organizational skills

High level of accuracy in final work product

Manage documents to support requirements of Fund’s legal compliance

Identify resources to utilize and to determine appropriate action and recommendations

Interface and communicate well with internal staff and the union as well as coordinate with Fund vendors on special projects

Represent the Fund professionally with union and employer transactions
