Description
Our client, a leading national franchise, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their finance team. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment that supports daily business operations and ensures financial integrity. As the Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced in managing financial operations for a growing business.
Responsibilities
• Prepare, review, and ensure timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Conduct variance analyses and provide financial reports to management for informed decision-making.
• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process, monitor financial performance against the budget, and provide variance explanations.
• Create financial forecasts to inform business planning and strategy.
• Analyze financial data and key performance indicators to provide actionable insights to management.
• Ensure compliance with tax reporting and filing requirements and coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and file necessary documents.
• Lead internal audits and collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
• Implement financial policies and procedures that support business growth and regulatory compliance.
• Manage and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the department.
• Oversee sales tax collection and reporting processes.
• Monitor cash flow, profitability, and operational efficiency to identify financial risks and opportunities to optimize the franchise's financial performance.

Requirements • Must have a minimum of 7 years experience in a similar role as a Controller
• Comprehensive knowledge of Budget Processes is required
• Proficiency in Controllership tasks and responsibilities is necessary
• Familiarity with GAAP Accounting principles is expected
• Should be able to effectively handle Monthly Close processes
• Experience in Financial Statement Preparation is needed
• Must be adept in Variance Analysis
• Experience in Cash Forecasting is required
• Demonstrable Leadership Skills are necessary
• Proficiency in using NetSuite is essential
