Robert Half Director of Accounting in Las Vegas, Nevada

Description

We are searching for an experienced Director of Accounting to join our team in the hospitality industry located in Las Vegas, Nevada. As the Director of Accounting, you will be instrumental in overseeing daily accounting operations, leading the development of an accounting team, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and nonprofit reporting standards.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of accounting, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and fixed asset accounting.

• Lead and foster the development of an accounting team to encourage collaboration and high performance.

• Prepare and manage financial statements while ensuring adherence to GAAP and nonprofit reporting standards.

• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.

• Develop and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.

• Assist with financial analysis to support decision-making and budgeting, including historical and forecasted trend analysis.

• Oversee bi-weekly payroll processes, including salaried and hourly employees.

• Serve as the System Administrator for accounting and reporting software.

• Assist in the preparation of quarterly financial reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors.

• Support external auditors and tax return preparers, providing necessary documentation for annual audits.

Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Accounting or related field within the Hospitality industry

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is required

• Proficiency in BlackLine and Concur software

• Extensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting principles

• Experience in handling Budget Processes

• Proficiency in executing Monthly Close procedures

• Expertise in managing General Ledger activities

• Strong skills in Financial Reporting

• Knowledge of Technical Accounting is essential

• Experience with Sage Intacct software

• Familiarity with Fund Accounting in a Non-Profit context

• Experience in preparing and managing Annual Budgets
