Robert Half Application Support Engineer in Latham, New York

Description We are in search of a diligent Application Support Engineer to become a part of our team in Latham, New York. This role primarily involves handling and resolving software issues, providing support to clients, and expanding knowledge of our products. It offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, inviting applicants with skills in Database, Application Support, and Microsoft SQL.

Responsibilities:

• Provide inbound phone, web, or email software support to resolve intricate technical client inquiries and problems in an effective and efficient manner.

• Analyze data reports, forms, and web technologies to aid in problem-solving.

• Employ SQL programming to address basic to moderate issues.

• Communicate responsibly with all parties involved in issue resolution to meet and manage client expectations.

• Utilize the client management system to create, track, and/or update details on the specifics of client issue(s).

• Assist in establishing issue priorities to ensure a timely and effective response and solution.

• May contribute to writing estimates for software modification specifications and documentation of support processes.

• Submit client issues to the development team for resolution as needed.

• Perform Quality Assurance testing for software module upgrades/changes and analyze results to ensure that software performs as required.

• Troubleshoot application deployments, recreate customer issues, and build proof of concept applications.

• Write and interpret configuration scripts for customer environments to install programs, configure logging, and modify configuration files.

• Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions depending on customer use cases.

• Commit to expanding technological skills and knowledge of the products.

• Demonstrate awareness of and adherence to Company policies.

• Communicate professionally, clearly, and appropriately with clients and coworkers.

• Determine the urgency of issues for each client and their placement in the prioritization of issues for their entire group of assigned clients.

• Solve problems effectively in an ever-evolving environment.

• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of support processes, problem management tools, and procedures.

• Resolve issues of easy-moderate complexity utilizing knowledge of established guidelines, company policies, and contract specifications.

• Work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment.

• Assist other team members as necessary.

• Effectively utilize available resources.

• Accurately record all details and progress in incident tracking system(s). Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server or similar database systems

• Experience in providing application support for technical issues

• Strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve application issues

• Demonstrable knowledge of IT infrastructure, including networks, databases, and servers

• Prior experience in a similar role, such as Application Support Engineer or IT Support Specialist

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, stakeholders, and users

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Familiarity with standard office software, such as Microsoft Office Suite

• Willingness to keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and innovations

• Demonstrable commitment to maintaining high service standards and user satisfaction

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. Technology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.®
