Robert Half has a client in the Service industry seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic Controller to join their esteemed company. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, manages the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, analyzes accounting and internal control systems, and guides departmental staff. The Controller position is a permanent opportunity in the Le Mars & Sioux City, IA region. The role will allow for remote work around 1 day each week if needed.
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure efficient and successful firm-wide operation
Respond on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
Assess, execute and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, and/or Business Administration a must
MBA, CPA, or CMA accreditation preferred but not a must have
7+ years of progressive accounting & finance experience a must have
Experience leading accounting teams & operations while supervising direct reports required
Ability to work closely with Executive leadership to drive company and financial strategy & growth initiatives
