Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dependable Vice President (VP) of Finance with a background in the construction industry and experience in mergers and acquisitions. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, contract management, mergers and acquisitions activities, and leading a team of four direct reports in the finance department, with many indirect reports. Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization along with the executive director and the finance committee.
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, and ensure they are aligned with company objectives.
Review all contracts, focusing on financial implications to ensure they are in the company's best interests.
Lead the financial planning and budgeting processes.
Oversee financial operations, including but not limited to, payroll, AP/AR, tax and reporting.
Manage and provide leadership to a team of four financial professionals ensuring development and performance.
Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.
Evaluate the company’s performance using data-driven tools and methodologies.
Handle the company’s financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.
Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans and manage the capital request and budgeting processes.
Requirements
Required Skills/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus.
Proven experience in a leadership role in finance
Construction industry experience required
Demonstrated expertise in mergers and acquisitions.
Strong contract review skills.
Proficiency in financial management software and Excel, and a sound knowledge of data analysis methodologies.
Must have excellent leadership, team management, communication and strategic planning skills.
Familiarity with corporate law, and management best practices.
