Job Description: We are seeking an experienced and dependable Vice President (VP) of Finance with a background in the construction industry and experience in mergers and acquisitions. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, contract management, mergers and acquisitions activities, and leading a team of four direct reports in the finance department, with many indirect reports. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization along with the executive director and the finance committee.

  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures, and ensure they are aligned with company objectives.

  • Review all contracts, focusing on financial implications to ensure they are in the company's best interests.

  • Lead the financial planning and budgeting processes.

  • Oversee financial operations, including but not limited to, payroll, AP/AR, tax and reporting.

  • Manage and provide leadership to a team of four financial professionals ensuring development and performance.

  • Drive the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks.

  • Evaluate the company’s performance using data-driven tools and methodologies.

  • Handle the company’s financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets.

  • Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans and manage the capital request and budgeting processes.

    Requirements

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; MBA or relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus.

  • Proven experience in a leadership role in finance

  • Construction industry experience required

  • Demonstrated expertise in mergers and acquisitions.

  • Strong contract review skills.

  • Proficiency in financial management software and Excel, and a sound knowledge of data analysis methodologies.

  • Must have excellent leadership, team management, communication and strategic planning skills.

  • Familiarity with corporate law, and management best practices.
