Description A prominent services company is looking to grow its team by hiring a Controller through Robert Half. In this leadership role, you will manage an accounting and clerical department. The Controller plans and directs all accounting operational functions, handles the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluates accounting and internal control systems, and leads departmental staff. How you will make an impact
Advance Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed, with research, planning and implementation
Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Comfortable in taking on tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them monthly
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Check deliverables of self and team to certify they meet client expectations
Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis Requirements
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Vow to meet business deadlines
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Proficiency in month end closings
Financial statement preparation experience desired
Command of Annual Budget
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal, written, and listening)
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Excellent attention to detail
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 5 years as a Controller preferred
CPA or MBA preferred
