Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical professional to take on the role of Controller within their organization. This position is based in Lexington, Kentucky, United States, and is responsible for managing the general accounting function, ensuring the precise compilation, analysis, and reporting of financial data. Additionally, this role will act as a liaison between the company, government agencies, and independent auditors to provide required information and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.

• Prepare comprehensive monthly and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for a diverse range of entities, including charitable foundations and limited liability companies.

• Supervise the accounting team to ensure adherence to GAAP.

• Oversee essential accounting operations such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, time billing, payroll, General Ledger, and tax compliance (including sales and use, income, and property taxes).

• Produce and distribute monthly management reports for all business units.

• Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring the accuracy of banking and investment account records.

• Coordinate annual financial and 401K audits, acting as the primary contact with auditors.

• Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, and monitor and report significant budget deviations to management.

• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal government regulations, including the management of sales tax filings and remittances.

• Support tax compliance efforts, including the preparation and filing of annual tax returns for specific affiliated entities.

• Enhance and implement financial controls within areas of responsibility.

• Stay updated on trends, developments, and best practices in the accounting field, applying this knowledge to suggest and implement process and policy improvements.

• Proficient in utilizing Accounting Software Systems, ADP Financial Services, DCAA, ERP Solutions, and familiar with various accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Auditing, and Budget Processes.

  Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Controller role or similar financial management position.

• Proven proficiency in Accounting Software Systems.

• Familiarity with ADP - Financial Services.

• Experience with DCAA regulations and requirements.

• Knowledge of ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems.

• Expertise in implementing and managing ERP Solutions.

• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions.

• Experience managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Proven ability in Auditing procedures.

• Experience in managing Budget Processes.
