Robert Half Legal Secretary in Lexington, Kentucky

Description

Robert Half Lexington is partnering with a local law firm to identify qualified candidates in the Legal Secretary/Legal Admin field working on site in an office in Lexington, Kentucky. This role is mainly focused on providing receptionist, administrative and other ad hoc legal secretarial duties. The ideal candidate should have prior experience in similar roles, be able to handle a multi-line phone system efficiently, do transcription, managing schedules and various administrative support tasks (correspondence, etc). Typical Responsibilities:

• Reception duties including handling phone calls and managing walk-in traffic

• Transcription of legal documents and correspondence

• Drafting, editing and sending emails and letters using Microsoft Word

• Organizing, scanning, and creating digital records of legal files

• Assisting in pushing documents through to the court system after attorney's finalization

• Performing various ad hoc clerical tasks as needed

• Answering multi-line phone system

• Performing receptionist duties as required by the team

Skills:

• Ability to handle multi-line phone system

• Experience with receptionist duties

• Familiarity with legal secretary tasks

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and other office tools

• Strong organizational skills

• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Prior experience in a law firm or legal industry is preferred.

Requirements

• Possess a bachelor's or associate's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field, preferred but not required

• Have experience in a similar role, such as Paralegal, Legal Administrative Assistant, Legal Assistant, etc.

• Proficient in using legal software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

• Ability to handle a multi-line phone system and perform receptionist duties.

• Excellent data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong written and oral communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively.

• Capability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent problem-solving skills.

• High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
