Robert Half International Staff Accountant--SPS in Lexington, Kentucky
There's currently a SPS position available for an experienced Staff Accountant with SPS in Accountemps. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will provide support in developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets.
Your responsibilities - Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested - Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner - Organize capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process - Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting - Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision - Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments - Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Efficient in ERP systems
- Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
- Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
- Demonstrated knowledge of general ledger
- Microsoft Word experience highly desired
- Knowledge of financial reporting
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Adeptness in fixed assets
- Bank reconciliations experience
- Foundational knowledge in journal entries
- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
