Robert Half Sr. Accountant in Lexington, Massachusetts

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in Lexington, Massachusetts. This role is essential within our team, focusing on government cost accounting, general ledger management, and revenue reporting. You will work within a telecom provider, a fast-paced industry that requires adaptability and a quick learning curve.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze revenue reports and provide insights.

• Adapt to new systems and processes efficiently.

• Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner.

• Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Prepare and post journal entries.

• Support month end close processes.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Work with Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite systems.

• Continuously learn and understand GAAP and government accounting processes.

• Collaborate with the team on a daily basis to ensure all accounting tasks are completed on time. Requirements • Proven experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as Oracle, SAP, and NetSuite.

• Strong understanding of account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations.

• Ability to maintain and manage the general ledger.

• Experience with journal entries and month end close procedures.

• Excellent analytical skills with a meticulous attention to detail.

• Knowledge of financial regulations and legislation.

• Exceptional numerical proficiency.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.

• Relevant professional certifications are a plus (e.g., CPA, CMA).

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to adapt to change and work under pressure.

• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.

• High level of integrity and trustworthiness.

• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Willingness to continuously update skills and knowledge in the field of accounting.
