Robert Half Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager in Lexington, South Carolina
Description
Our established client is hiring an Accounts Payable Supervisor to join their team. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing the accounts payable department, supervising 4 Accounts Payable Specialists, and ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of payments.
Responsibilities include:
• Overseeing the daily operations of the accounts payable department
• Supervising the Accounts Payable Specialists and Senior Accounts Payable Specialists
• Posting payments accurately into the accounts payable system
• Ensuring accurate maintenance of the accounts payable file system
• Communicating effectively with vendors to address inquiries and resolve issues
• Assisting in the recruitment, staff development, and performance evaluations for the accounts payable department
• Conducting regular department meetings to ensure smooth operations
• Providing regular reports on department activities and the status of pending workflows
• Actively participating in accounts payable tasks during peak demand on department resources
• Taking initiative to set and meet objectives, find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks, and recommend changes to policies and procedures when necessary.
Requirements
• Must possess a minimum of 5 years of progressive AP experience.
• Supervisory experience is necessary.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Accounts Payable (AP) is a must.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems is necessary.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
