Robert Half Finance has an opportunity for you to become a critical part of an innovative Printing/Publishing company, as a full-time Staff Accountant. To flourish in this role, candidates will need to be highly capable of handling a challenging work environment with many components. To succeed in this Staff Accountant role, you will need to prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To succeed in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. Located in the Libertyville, Illinois area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work. What you get to do every day
Manage depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
Become well-versed in month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Manage schedules for monthly payments and capital lease
Partake in various department-wide initiatives
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Handle intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Current and relevant ERP system experience
Comprehensive knowledge of Epicor
Command of fixed assets
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Critical thinking skills and the ability to retain complex work directions
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
