Description
Robert Half is in search of an Accountant for our client in the Lincoln, NE area. This position involves the key functions of a Staff Accountant in the Hospitals and Social Assistance sector. The workplace is dynamic and requires a detail-oriented professional who can navigate the financial aspects of our operations.
Responsibilities:
• Handle a variety of accounting tasks, including the maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of financial reports, and management of accounts to ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
• Prepare periodic balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements to provide insights into the organization's financial health.
• Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and manage the closing of monthly books as part of Accounts Payable duties.
• Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks to ensure accuracy in bank transactions.
• Provide assistance to external auditors during audits to ensure compliance and transparency.
• Collaborate effectively with Practice Administrators and external auditors in their day-to-day operations.
• Coordinate with software vendors to maintain the accounting software system and recommend updates to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Adapt to the evolving needs of the organization, extending your role beyond the specific duties listed.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industry
• Proven expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Proficient in managing General Ledger
• Ability to prepare and manage Journal Entries
• Experience with Month End Close procedures
• Working knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
