Description

Robert Half is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Accounts Receivable Team Lead/Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing a team, overseeing accounts receivable processes from end to end, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in month-end close and preparation activities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly in pivot tables and V-lookups, as well as experience with Oracle, is essential for success in this role. Candidates with a background in publicly listed companies or audit experience in public accounting and SOX controls compliance are highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management:

Lead and supervise a team of accounts receivable specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the team meets performance goals and objectives.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and address any issues or concerns promptly.

Accounts Receivable Management:

Oversee the entire accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections, cash application, and reconciliation, to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and procedures.

Monitor aging reports and proactively follow up on overdue accounts to minimize outstanding receivables and improve cash flow.

Collaborate with sales, customer service, and other relevant departments to resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries effectively.

Review and analyze accounts receivable data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements.

Month-End Close/Preparation:

Coordinate and participate in month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals related to accounts receivable.

Ensure all revenue recognition criteria are met in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.

Prepare and analyze financial reports, variance analyses, and other relevant financial information to support management decision-making.

Advanced Excel Skills and Oracle Expertise:

Utilize advanced Microsoft Excel functionalities, such as pivot tables, V-lookups, and macros, to manipulate and analyze large datasets efficiently.Leverage Oracle or similar ERP systems to perform various accounts receivable functions, generate reports, and extract data for analysis and reporting purposes.

Provide training and support to team members on Excel techniques and Oracle system usage to enhance productivity and accuracy.

Public Company/Audit Experience:

Apply knowledge of regulatory requirements and accounting principles applicable to publicly listed companies, including SOX controls compliance and financial reporting standards.

Assist in the preparation of audit schedules, support external auditors during interim and year-end audits, and ensure compliance with audit requests and inquiries.

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.

years of progressive experience in accounts receivable, with [X] years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Extensive knowledge of accounts receivable processes, procedures, and best practices.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups) and Oracle or similar ERP systems.

Experience working in a publicly listed company or public accounting firm preferred.

Familiarity with SOX controls compliance and audit procedures.

Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
