Robert Half Director of Accounting & Finance in Lincoln, Nebraska


Robert Half Finance & Accounting is working with a client looking for a new Director of Accounting & Finance in the Lincoln, NE area on a permanent, full-time basis. The Director position will oversee the company's accounting, consolidated reporting, and treasury operations across the organization. This role will be heavily involved in systems enhancements and upgrades as the key financial lead for the project(s). This position will help oversee accuracy of external reports, will liaison with external contacts and partners, and will lead the accounting & finance staff in Lincoln, NE as well as throughout the US. This role involves high visibility and cross-functional responsibilities, including managing corporate and shared service accounting and payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, update, and enhance financial reporting processes.

  • Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations for review by senior management and the Board of Directors.

  • Ensure timely financial closing by collaborating with accounting managers and corporate staff, and manage staff activity and delegation.

  • Oversee and perform financial consolidation for US reporting requirements.

  • Act as primary audit and tax reporting liaison for all quarterly & yearly required reporting activities.

  • Support and oversee communication within treasury operations, including optimizing liquidity and managing banking relationships.

  • Lead and cultivate the Accounting organization and develop/provide guidance to staff members for future progression.

  • Lead reporting site budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and narrative review for local and US operations.


Education Requirements & Desired Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.

  • CPA certification is preferred, but not required.

  • Experience working within larger, corporate entities ($100mm in total revenue) highly desired, but not required.

  • Minimum of 7-10+ years of progressive Accounting & Finance experience, including leadership of accounting and analyst staff

  • Experience presenting to senior management and ability to relay non-financial data & findings to internal/external parties.

  • Familiarity with finance software platforms for consolidation, budgeting, and forecasting.

  • Proficient in financial modeling and other FP& A activities such as budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis

  • Experienced in using larger ERP systems along with experience leading and/or contributing to systems upgrades, conversions, or implementations.

  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI or similar tools.
