Robert Half Manager, Financial Reporting in Lincoln, Nebraska
Description
We are seeking a Manager of Financial Reporting to join our team in the Financial Services/Investment Management industry, located in Lincoln, Nebraska. This is a salaried, full-time permanent position with a target bonus as well as hybrid/work-from-home capabilities. In this role, you will oversee both the GAAP and statutory/regulatory accounting and reporting for the consolidated company & related subsidiary financial results. This includes the preparation and filing of audited financial statements and liaison with external regulators/auditors for review and reporting of statements.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the accounting and reporting of the GAAP and statutory financial results for the consolidated company and related subsidiaries.
• Monitor new guidance to be implemented in relation to GAAP and statutory accounting policies and practices.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of regulatory statements, including capital requirement filings.
• Prepare and file statutory audited financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
• Assist with the audits and examinations of independent external auditors, State Insurance Department examiners, and any other required audits or examinations.
• Report GAAP and statutory divisional results and partner with Financial Planning and Analysis for any analysis requests.
• Participate in technology projects and initiatives related to financial reporting.
• Perform additional duties as required.
Requirements
Requirements & Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related field a requirement
• Minimum of five years of experience in Finance & Accounting position(s), with strong preference for that experience coming from Financial Services/Investment Management related companies
• Understanding of GAAP - STAT, GAAP Accounting, US GAAP, and other Statutory Accounting Principles strongly suggested
• Experience producing consolidated financial statements and/or reporting for multiple company subsidiaries highly desired
• Experience working with multiple department or operational leaders across an organization to communicate/gather data from these individuals
• Ability to prepare consolidated balance sheet, consolidated financial statements, and manage consolidation processes
• Experience in annual external audit, external audit, and internal external audit is preferred
