Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Little Rock, Arkansas

Description

As the Accounting Manager, you'll lead the accounting department's operations, overseeing financial and cost accounting, procurement, accounts payable, and financial reporting. You'll utilize Excel, Sage US 50, and Power BI to carry out your responsibilities, working under the guidance of the CFO. Your role demands sound judgment in adhering to established procedures and knowing when to escalate issues to the CFO. Strong analytical prowess, deep understanding of accounting principles, and adaptability to a dynamic work environment are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Finance's workflow, aligning efforts with Finance's lifecycle document

  • Establish internal controls and protocols for accounting transactions and budgeting

  • Supervise the accounting team handling financial reporting, payables, payroll, and budget preparation

  • Recruit, evaluate, and onboard accounting and financial personnel

  • Organize training initiatives for new hires and identify ongoing training needs

  • Oversee the creation of business activity reports, financial projections, and annual budgets

  • Ensure timely generation of periodic financial reports adhering to GAAP standards

  • Conduct audits to ensure regulatory compliance, liaising with external auditors as necessary

  • Present recommendations to management concerning short- and long-term financial strategies

  • Provide financial analysis focusing on capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations

  • Lead the monthly closing process, supervising journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial analysis

  • Deliver accurate financial results and insights to the leadership team

  • Collaborate with department heads as a financial advisor on their results and planning

  • Undertake additional projects as delegated by the CFO

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited four-year institution; CPA designation preferred

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in finance or accounting roles

  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; strong overall computer literacy required
