The candidate's responsibilities in this role include attending to the general needs of the AP/Finance Department, while working closely and reporting to the Accounting Manager. The essential functions of this role will include matching and batching code, resolving A/P issues, processing expense reports, updating and reconciling sub-ledger to G/L and processing checks are primary areas of focus. This Accounts Payable Clerk role will be located in the Little Rock, Arkansas area and will be a long-term temporary-to-full-time position.

How you will make an impact

  • Open, sort, and distribute daily department mail

  • Provide internal and external audit assistance as required

  • Support the AP/Finance Department by completing administrative tasks

  • Execute daily processes and controls accurately and in a timely manner; ensuring compliance with company policies

  • Fullfill full-cycle A/P

  • Handle the customer service needs of internal business partners

  • Verify, log and mail checks, including expediting special handling

  • Carry out additional projects as required

  • Sort, log, scan, and file invoices, checks, and other documents

Requirements

  • AA or BS/BA degree in Accounting, Business or similar preferred

  • Practical knowledge of VLOOKUP

  • Well-founded grasp of Microsoft Excel

  • Quality experience with Excel Formulas

  • Experience with Post Journal Entries

  • Proven knowledge of reconciliations

  • Prepare Journal Entries experience preferred

  • General familiarity with Pivot Table

  • Solid understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Knowledge of batching

  • Proficiency in Coding Invoices

  • Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, especially with both technical and financial backgrounds

  • 2+ years of experience in an A/P role preferred

  • Strong attention to detail
