Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our clients team on an extended contract basis. As a Payroll Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. This position is ideal for a dedicated professional with a strong background in payroll administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Prepare and process bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payroll for employees across multiple locations.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
Data Management: Maintain and update employee payroll records, including tax deductions, benefits, and direct deposit information.
Reporting: Generate and review payroll reports for accuracy and reconciliation.
Issue Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee inquiries promptly.
System Maintenance: Support payroll system updates and testing as needed.
Collaboration: Work closely with HR and Accounting teams to ensure payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
Experience: 3+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state or global organization.
Education: Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
Software Skills: Proficiency in payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, or Paychex. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is a plus.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance standards.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling confidential information.
Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues effectively.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees and management.
