Robert Half Staff Acountant in Long Beach, California

Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting, preferably within the manufacturing sector. This role will support our finance team in managing and analyzing financial information, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining compliance with company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring timely and accurate recording.

  • Cost Accounting: Analyze manufacturing costs and variances, providing detailed reports and recommendations to management.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring actual performance against projections.

  • Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

    Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, and financial reporting.

  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization.

  • Team Player: Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification: CPA or CMA certification is a plus.

  • Experience: Prior experience in a contract or temporary accounting role is advantageous.
