Description
We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Counsel with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for negotiating Medicare Advantage contracts and prescription contracts with insurance companies, supporting our Medicare line of business.
Key Responsibilities:
Negotiate Medicare Advantage contracts with insurance companies to ensure favorable terms for our organization.
Utilize your knowledge of Medicare lines of business (including Medicare Advantage, Original/Fee-for-service Medicare), Medicare Supplement, and Medicare Part D to guide your negotiations and our business strategy.
Negotiate prescription contracts to support Medicare Part D with insurance companies, helping to ensure our clients have access to the medications they need.
Negotiate value-based care agreements, also known as “risk agreements”, to promote efficient, patient-centered care.
Support our organization's Medicare line of business, leveraging your previous experience with an insurance company in a similar capacity.
Qualification & Skills:
Minimum 4 years of relevant experience within the healthcare industry.
Strong knowledge of Medicare lines of business (Medicare Advantage, Original/Fee-for-service Medicare), Medicare Supplement, Medicare Part D. Acquiring this knowledge via direct experience working for an insurance company would be highly preferred.
Proven experience in negotiating contracts with insurance companies.
Experience with value-based care agreements or "risk agreements" is highly preferred.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Capable of working independently, with a results-driven approach.

Requirements • Possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Admitted to the State Bar
• Proven experience as a practicing Attorney or Lawyer, preferably within the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industries
• Proficiency in legal software and management systems
• Experience with LexisNexis database
• Demonstrated ability to draft and negotiate contracts effectively
• Knowledge of payor contracts and legal requirements in the healthcare sector
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and act with discretion and integrity
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
