IT Help Desk Technician Description:
We are seeking a motivated and dynamic for an IT Help Desk Technician for an Educational Institution to join our team. The IT Help Desk Technician will play a crucial role in providing desktop support to ensure the smooth operation of our educational technology infrastructure. This IT Help Desk Technician position involves hands-on assistance with standard Level 1 & 2 tasks, including password resets, installation, and configuration, with a focus on desktop support rather than phone support. While exposure to private colleges/institutions is desirable, it is not a strict requirement for the IT Help Desk Technician position.
IT Help Desk Technician Responsibilities:
Provide desktop support for standard Level 1 tasks, including password resets, software installation, and configuration.
Collaborate with end-users to troubleshoot and resolve IT-related issues.
Assist in maintaining and updating hardware and software systems.
Work closely with the IT team to implement and support technology initiatives.
Maintain accurate records of IT support requests and resolutions.
Contribute to the development of IT documentation and knowledge base articles.
Stay informed about the latest technology trends and updates relevant to the educational sector.
IT Help Desk Technician Qualifications:
Proven experience in desktop support and troubleshooting.
Familiarity with standard Level 1 IT tasks, including password resets, software installation, and configuration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt and pivot to different tasks as needed.
Knowledge of educational technology and familiarity with the needs of academic institutions is a plus.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician) are advantageous but not mandatory.
