Robert Half Logistics Coordinator in Long Beach, California

Description We are seeking a Logistics Coordinator for our Wholesale Distribution operations based in Long Beach, California. This role primarily involves managing logistical processes, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining strong relationships with various stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity for a long-term contract in an engaging and dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

• Coordinate logistics, including intermodal logistics, to ensure seamless operations.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including drivers and carriers.

• Manage pickup reports and open job reports, ensuring accurate and timely documentation.

• Work closely with the dock supervisor to support successful daily dock launches.

• Assign B2B/B2C tasks as needed and manually build jobs when required.

• Provide high-level customer service, resolving inquiries and providing ETAs as requested.

• Handle ad-hoc delivery/pickup coverage and coordinate pickup dispatch management.

• Attend weekly operations meetings and contribute to discussions and decision-making.

• Track and trace logistics operations, adjusting rates as necessary. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Logistics industry.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate logistics, including intermodal logistics.

• Proficient in using logistics and distribution software, Cargowise preferred.

• Strong understanding of the wholesale distribution industry.

• Ability to develop and implement logistics strategies to improve distribution processes.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a timely manner.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Proven record of reliability, responsibility, and dependability.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics or related field is preferred but not required.
